Who we are
This website is run by Mike Lee Laser & Skin Clinic, 6 Water Street, Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside WA12 0EE. We are the controller of the personal information collected through this website. You can contact us at info@mikeleelaser.co.uk or on 07833 098 330.
This policy explains what information the website collects, why, who it is shared with and what your rights are under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
The contact form
The website has a contact form on the Contact page and on the home page. When you use it we collect the details you type in: your name, email address, phone number, the treatment you are interested in, your message and any photos you choose to attach. Photos can only be images, up to five files and 20 MB in total.
We use these details only to reply to your enquiry. The form emails them to the clinic at info@mikeleelaser.co.uk through Resend, an email delivery service that sends the message on our behalf. We do not send an automatic reply to visitors and we do not add anyone to a mailing list because they used the form.
We keep enquiries in the clinic inbox for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and for as long as the law requires, and no longer.
Spam protection
The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile and a hidden honeypot field to stop automated spam. Turnstile checks that the form is being used by a person and may process technical information from your browser, such as your IP address, for that purpose. Cloudflare explains how it handles this in its own privacy policy.
Hosting and third parties
The website is hosted and delivered through Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as your IP address and the pages you request in order to serve the site securely.
Some pages link to other websites that we do not control. The store is provided on mikeleelaser.co.uk by Wix. When you open the Book Online page, this website loads the clinic’s live diary from Wix, and your details and payment are taken on Wix’s secure checkout page. The address links open Google Maps. When you follow those links you leave this website and the privacy policy of that service applies.
When they are switched on, the Instagram feed and the Google reviews on the home page are third party content loaded from Fouita. Loading them may send technical information from your browser, such as your IP address, to Fouita and to Instagram or Google.
Cookies and analytics
On the live website we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service from Google, to understand how many people visit and which pages they look at. It uses cookies and collects information such as your IP address, your device and browser, the pages you view and how you arrived. Google processes this information on our behalf. It is not used on the preview version of the website.
You can stop Google Analytics collecting information about you by using Google’s browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings. The website does not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
A cookie-free page-view counter run by RankShark records only the page address, the referring page or site and any campaign tag in the link. It sets no cookies. The IP address is used only momentarily to block abuse and is never stored.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict or stop using it, and ask for it in a portable format. To use any of these rights, email info@mikeleelaser.co.uk and we will reply as soon as we can.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner, the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if the way the website handles personal information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
